Les Estivales

The Estivales de l'Illustration emerged from discussions between Didier and Catherine de Librairie-Tartinerie de Sarrant and François Place during the "Métis Literature" festival in Angoulême 2013. This exchange was an opportunity to share a real feeling about the ignorance of the profession of illustrator and the little knowledge we have to read both the image and the text ... The Estivales de l'Illustration were enriched by the membership of Marie Paquet, director of the departmental media library of Gers, who brought her passion and her extensive knowledge of the world of children's books. Her intention is to bring artistic value to the work of illustrators and to spread a culture of illustration to as many people as possible. The Illustration Summer is designed to be experienced by all drawing enthusiasts, image lovers, book lovers, artists or not

Georges Querol

Querol is the municipal councillor of the village of Sarrant: a French commune in the department of Gers in the Midi-Pyrénées region within the historic territory of Gascony. It is an ancient bastide whose medieval remains place it in the category of the most beautiful villages in France. It is particularly known for its annual festival of medieval dance and music, and for some years now for being the village of illustration thanks to Les Estivales, and other illustration-related activities that take place in the village, as well as having LAMIS, the house of illustration of which George is co-owne./p>
